Help Please - dash heater

Hi, I recently(Oct 2012) purchased a 1999 Georgie Boy Cruise Master MH with a Triton V10 motor, The dash/window heater in the cabin is not working. I took it apart to find that the control switch is not working and also tested the transistor and it too is bad. I have tried several truck parts stores and a local ford dealer in the area and they are stumped they can't find the parts that I need. Does anyone out there know where I can get these parts as I am not ready to put it away yet but can't drive it the way it is as it is cold where I am and we need heat. Thanks to anyone who can help

Hi GrampaL,
Welcome to iRV2. Can you or a super tech, make a mechanical solution so the broken parts are no longer needed?

Grampal: I believe your heat and ac controls are made by Evans Tempcon.
Evans Tempcon, Inc - Service Parts
See if your parts are here or call them, they may know where to look.
This same website has manuals and troubleshooting info...

Hope this helps. and Welcome....

don't know supertech

i come from a small city, everyone tells me these parts are compatible with a ford econoline van - tried that- then told that could be freightliner - no luck there, that I could find- even had local ford dealers search vin to see if they could match up parts and no luck there either. I do know a mechanic that said that he could wire the heter switch but then stated that it would be better to get the original - just so frustrated right now

I have a 2001 Georgie Boy. It had the Evans heat and a/c controls. I needed a new knob and the deflectors for the windshield defroster. When I called Evans they gave me a phone number for a parts supplier. My motorhome is in the shop and the book with that number is in the motorhome. I may pick the motorhome up tommorow or Friday. I will get that number for you as soon as I can. The parts man was very helpful.

Check Ebay, many of the Evans controls were used in Dodge Pickups. That's where I found a good dash control for $24.
