Help with replacing hatch gas lifts

I am a newbie, just purchased a 2001 Winnebago 30W Brave. Very excited to use it. First I am going through all the little things. Many of the storage doors need the gas lifts replaced. RV stores have them but they seem very expensive. Can anyone guide me to a better option? Thanks, I am happy to join the ranks of RVers

just take an old one off .. most have a model # printed on them and an auto store or google can cross reference them .. or measure it.. then got to Auto Zone .. or another auto supply place. based on length and amount of lift needed, about $23 each.

See if you can see any name on your original lift. Mine were made by Springlift also. The number on mine was SL 13-60. The 60 indicated that was the lift pounds, can't remember the 13 (maybe length). I just typed Springlift SL 13-60 into the eBay search and found what I needed for around $16.00 each. Changed them out in about 2 minutes and they worked super.

You will find that many many parts on your unit are not specific to RV's and can usually be purchased from suppliers other than RV stores cheaper and quicker.
