Hercules Tires
Has anyone used Hercules tires 275/70R/22.5 16 ply on their motorhome? We are looking for new replacements and have been told these are smooth riding and hold up. Any input would be welcomed. Thanks

I checked on their web site they didn't have a 275/70R/22.5 listed. Are you sure they make that size.

They are made in China. We all know about the quality control
in Chinese factores. They even poisoned their own children to
make an extra buck. Beware...... the safely and lives of your
family are at stake.

Interesting. Links to document such claims would be nifty.
I met a guy that runs a fleet of trucks that loves Hercules tires. Has run them for many years. Got tired of zipper blow outs.
Has them on his MH.
Doesnt Hercules need to meet ISO9000 (etc) requirements as a US company?
I'm thinking about Hercules and also BFG

Just got a whole set for our 45 footer. Local dealer puts them on most of his RVs with no problems. my two cents

We put them on our 99 Monaco Windsor. They ride smooth like the Goodyear and Michelins do. There going on 5 years old and will replace with Hercules again.

We have Hercules on our Essex. They were on when we bought, not sure of how many miles were on them as service records were poor at best. But, we have put 20k miles on them with no issues and still going strong. Will definitely age out before we wear them out. No quality issues at all.

IMO Michelin and GY have half the RV world convinced that you have to have "RV tires" on a motorhome and that those "truck tires" are harsh, noisy, rough riding, or whatever, plus they lack UV protection and die in the sun. It simply ain't true, just advertising blather.
OK, you could buy high mileage tires designed to maxiimse tread life in over-the-road applications. Those will use a harder rubber and maybe be a bit rougher, but any truck tire model designed for regional delivery use (mixed highway & city driving) is going to ride and handle just as well as those supposed "RV tires".
Go for the Hercules without fear of noise or harshness. Personally I'd step up a bit in quality and get a Toyo or Yokohoma or Sumitomo, but that's just me.

another plus from me. Three years on these and the only adjustment to tire pressure was due to one bad valve stem. Great ride.
