Great thread..
My wife is also a sewer and has a very nice 10 needle embroidery machine. When we go camping at the dunes or other places she keeps busy embroidering hats for people and selling our clothing line and adding custom embroidery to it. (we have our own line of Dune Pimp clothing)
This also helps pay for our trips.. WIN, WIN!!!
I keep busy puttering around and enjoying the time away from a very stressful and hectic job.

Simply enjoying the environment, checking out the area, oh and never, never forget rockhounding. DW takes the daily rock finds and then turns them into silver jewelry. She has a whole compartment dedicated to her hobby. Happy wife, happy life! And the hiking is good for me, too.

I have powered wheel thing to put dirt into to look for gold.. so far no gold but takes up my time.. cigars, Bourbon, wine, scotch, and the always out on the table puzzle consume the better part of my free time..I have thought about wood carver but that may delete the parts of my hobby Bourbon, wine, scotch, so is a no go..

Laser Engraving as Hobby in RV
You had questioned the idea of doing laser engraving as a hobby in your RV. I have worked in the Awards & Engraving Industry for 20 years and have worked with Laser Engravers for the last 15. I believe even a small table top engraver would be hard to take into an RV unless you wanted to set up an inclosed trailer to bring it in. A laser engraving machine must have an exhaust system to expel the fumes and depending on what you would be engraving they can be smelly and I would not like to be camped next to you. Also you would need to look into needed supplys of what you wanted to engrave etc. Just wanted to give you a heads up and if you have any questions I will try to reply to them.
