So far I'm striking out!
Anybody have any ideas?
Your "must have" list seems to be based on your current unit which is getting long in the tooth. For example, component video connectors are being phased out because of the Analog Sunset Rule. I'd suggest just keeping or buying another RCA RTD258RV, but it looks like they're no longer available.

Anyway, I checked the specs for a RTD258 (not "RV") system and the speakers are the "standard" 8 ohms -- meaning that you should be able to connect them to a modern AV receiver.

Like MSHappyCampers I also suggest purchasing a separate receiver & DVD player, not a combined system, because you'll have more flexibility in system design.

I went with a Marantz AV receiver because it's shorter than most AV receivers and fits easier in RV cabinets. I installed new speaks because the existing built-in speakers were junk. However, as someone already mentioned, most RVs don't have much room for AV components, so it's generally a good idea to cool them with fans.

As you've seen, you have PLENTY of choices.

We have similar problem with our sound system...we wanted one that can accept HDMI input from other systems...researched same company (Samsung) and found a dvd/receiver on eBay that we bought...no change in impedance for speakers, and speaker set up on dvd/rcvr are the same.
