Honest service repairs
I live in the central valley of Ca. between Modesto & Lodi near Hwy. 99.
I have a 35' Pace Arrow that my rubber roof needs replacing. I have had bids anywhere from $7k down to $4k not counting any repairs that may be needed under the roof. So far the individuals that have "tested" the roof by jumping on it claiming there are no soft spots.
Does anyone know of any repair shops that are honest. I know that once the roof is off, we are subject to the whim of the person doing the job, especially if we novices at repair work.
There are companies that claim to be #1 rated and they do the job at your home. Problem there is if they go out of bus. then so does their so-called warranty. The $4k offer seems to be a low-ball and the $7k figure seems very high. Other that driving my rig all over the place it would be nice to know if any locals know of laces nearby......Tnx....Dave

all of the roofs i have seen, have luan under them.Luan is cheap and light. That is why the manuf. use it. The problem is going to be removing the rubber roof. Most times when you pull up the rubber, If it was installed with a lot of glue (as it should be.) when pulled up, it most times tears the luan up. A few times it will come up without damaging the luan.

In Stockton try giving Cherokee RV a call, ask for Steve (the owner) and see what he says. I have dealt with them for several years. They are fair, reasonable, and do good work. (209) 485-1425 or 888 873-1425. You can mention my name if you like.

Hi Ga Traveler,
Well it looks like there are some hungry RV repair shops in my area. I am now being quoted between $3,400 to $4k. One of them is mobile and comes out of Sacto. and does it at the owners home. His quote includes anything he finds after the roof is peeled back, (luan issues etc.), he guarantees me it will not cost me anymore than what he quoted me. He takes credit cards so I would be covered.
