Honest Tire Shop Saved Me Money

I struggled to find the DOM on my Michelin XRV tires on my coach over the couple of months we've owned it. The previous owners kept good maint records but no mention of tires. The rear tires had some cracking on the sidewalls, so armed with what little info I had, I assumed that all tires were original 06 version with 29000 miles and ordered 6 Yokohamas after getting a good quote from a local shop.

The tires came in on Monday so I brought it in today for the install. In a little while the service manager called me over to the service bay. Of course I assumed other problems were found...oh joy! He showed me the date on the 2 steer tires and they were only 1 year old! Turns out the date stamp was mounted on the inside sidewall which is why I couldn't find it. He recommended putting them back on (after re-balancing) and only buying 4 of the 6 I had ordered. This shop could have easily put all 6 on and probably resold the still good ones and I would have never known the difference.

To me, that is excellent customer service and I will bring all my future business to that shop.

Kudos to Boulevard Tire - DeLand location.

We had two front tires replaced using GS RSA. They sent Boulevard while we were near Ft. Myers. Nice tech and the office was very helpful getting us set with the FMCA Michelin discount.

Another for Boulevard.

Thanks Red Dawg. The poem I'm familiar with ends differently, but I have heard your mothers version many times. Adds a little humor.
