Horn button/bar

We have a Smart Steering wheel on our '04CC. Sometimes when I hit the horn bar it toots and other times it doesn't. If I keep hitting it the horn may toot on the left side but not in the center or right. Other days it may not work at all.

Anybody else experienced this? I feel a horn is as important as headlights and brakes and if I can't rely on it to work it is a safety issue.

Guess you should have a Freightliner shop check it out, then.

My horn "button" is not very responsive to light taps - it has to be pushed firmly and near the lower center. Wish it were easier to sound, cause I may have other things to do in an emergency when I need to sound the horn!
