Hot brake solenoid

Winnebago sightseer 27 workhorse chassis trying to figure out what the solenoid on lower steering column is for that is activated by pressing brake pedal.... That solenoid is very hot at all times when ignition is on is the normal.....

I believe it controls the electric pump for your power brakes.

The solenoid is for the gear shift interlock , the cable that runs up the column , locks the shifter in park until you put your foot on the brake.
The power should be shut off once you start driving, and the solenoid will start to cool off. The longer you idle in park the hotter the solenoid will get ; but they are designed to take the heat.
