Hot water heater

First RV, 2018 Coacan Mirada 35BH. I think my question is probably relevant to all class A's, as it's probably the same or close, so here we go.

When filling the fresh water tank, does the hot water tank fill first? What if fresh water tank is dry but I'm connected to city water? I'm assuming the water is flowing to fill up hot water heater and then "shuts down" until demand requires more water.

Whatever the process, I'm sure I'm way over thinking it, I just like to know how things work.

When filling the tank the water only goes into the tank.
Turning on the water pump after there is water in the tank will then put water in the water heater.

When connected to and using city water, the pressure from the city water effectively replaces the water pump and water will go into the water heater.

In either case you'll need to make sure the diverter that bypasses the water heater is set to allow wanter into the heater.

Make sure there is water in the heater before turning on the electric element or it will burn out.

When you fill the fresh water tank you are filling the fresh water tank. That is all. you are NOT filling the hot water tank.

The hot water tank will fill when you turn on the water pump or switch from "Tank fill" to Use City Water if you are filling via the city water inlet and quick fill valve

But when you are filling the fresh tank you are filling the fresh tank that's all.
