I can talk about my BAL Accu-slide cable slide. I have had cables fail twice on mine. The first time I bought the repair kit online and did it myself. A cable diagram is available from BAL. It would have been much easier to do if my bedroom wall weren't right next to the slide. I had to use mirrors and also by touch. It took my son and I about 1/2 day to do the work.

The second time a cable failed, I happened to be near the Monaco Service Center in Indiana. Rather than deal with the frustration of doing it myself, I had it done. It took the tech about 4 hours and cost me a little under $500.

If you have good access to the sides of the slide, it could be done much quicker.
