how can I tow this car

Thinking of getting a 2017 Ford Escape FWD. Can I tow this with a tow dolly?

Remo says the '16 model can be dolly towed. You may need to swing by a dealer and look under the recreational towing section of the owners manual.

BTW,

Front wheel drive can be towed on a dolly, four wheel drive must be towed 4 off the ground according to my interpretation of the owners manual. Call a dealer and inquire. To be sure, read the owners manual. Good luck!

If it is only FWD then dolly towing will be fine

Read and heed the vehicle's owners' manual. If it requires a lube pump, I'd get it in writing what that might do to your warranty. Likely, lube pump = no warranty, but I'd get it in writing. Also, you might want/need to connect into the vehicle wiring for tail lights and signals on the Escape. What's that gonna do to the warranty?

You might check with Blue Ox when they'll have a base plate to fit that car. Right now they don't list any 2017 Fords. eTrailer lists two Ford models, but not the Escape. Roadmaster also doesn't show one for that car yet.

We looked at the Escape but we're told if if had the 2.0 Eco Boost you could not tow 4 wheels down. Same with the Edge w/ turbo boost. We went with the Edge 6 cyl. w/front wheel drive and pulls fine. Towing behind a dolly w/ FWD seems ok to me, the back wheels are just free wheeling anyway.
