How do I tell what model of awning I have?
I recently bought a 2005 Itasca Horizon, and there is a piece broken on the awning. I can't seem to find a model number on the awning though, so I can order the broken part. Any idea where the model number would be listed?
Darryl

If no information was given with the coach, look on the inside of the awnings support arms there should be ID tags located there.
I have an A&E and my tags are located in the forward support arm.
Hope this helps.......

You may want to give Winnebago a call. They keep build specs on all their motor homes. Have your vin number ready. You may want to register as a second owner at the same time. Check out Winnebago Industries. While you are on the site you can look at their parts catalog too.

I have carefree awnings and didn't know it until we went to try and order new fabric. I called carefree or Colorado and asked them how I determined what brand I have, the lady on the phone had me describe the tube, support arms and look at the very end piece of fabric attached to the coach and wouldn't you know there were about 4 different spots that said carefree also found it on a label in the coach closet about a week after we ordered the new awning fabric.

With your awning fully extended, standing under your awning with your back to the coach, there is a tag on the awning tube on the far left hand side. It should have A&E model number and serial number. All info is contained in these numbers, including color.

Check the awning tubes, some tags are in the inside, some on the outside...they are hard to find.

There are basically two awning styles, A&E Weather Pro and Carefree of Co, most awnings are one style or the other (most are A&E style, unlelss they are genuine Carefree)
It is easy to tell the two apart if you are in a campground.
If you can unroll it.. On my A&E the front end of the roller tube has a sticker.
If you can't any RV dealer can figure it out for you,, Really the model number is a combintaion of 4 things.
Length (Distance between front and rear arms)
Width (Length of fabric)
Automatic or Manual
If automatic old or new style. (When manufactured).
So a Dealer can "Synthize" the model number given that info.

I take it you don't have the documentation package that comes with the motorhome, in the case is documentation for all accessories.

Just replaced the fabric on our Carefree...sticker with model # on the roller tube...wonderful place under all that fabric . We have all the propaganda pamphlets on the awnings...no numbers on any of it. Bob

Thanks everyone - I found it.
When I looked up the parts manual, it didn't include the part numbers for the arms - which is what I need. Any idea where those part numbers are?
