How do YOU park your RV long term?

I am just trying to see what you guys do when parking long term WRT leveling jack use, tire pressure, surface if you can pick, what you cover, venting,...

In a high security RV lot (really, it's on a USMC base)
Surface is quality asphalt, so no tire pads needed like might be needed on concrete.
Tires have had no problems and are covered with tire covers.

Jacks up to keep the jack shafts free of corrosion.

And, it's covered with a high quality RV cover. Last one lasted 3 years, so we know it gave it's life to protect the RV. Better to cover than to fry the paint, roof, decals, seals, etc.

That works for us...you can only do the best you can and covered RV parking (while surely the best) is too expensive in these parts.

I pull it into the secure storage unit, park it on gravel, pull the shades, hit the battery disconnect and lock the storage compartments and doors. That is it. But then I don't store it in below freezing temps, it sits either in FL in the winter or MI in the summer.

I have a crusher run pad next to my house. RV stays plugged in, leveled with jacks. Water lines blown out with compressed air and pink in the drains. Uncovered this year, but I am seeing the effects of the weather. Until I build my RV barn, I will likely buy a cover next fall.

In my side lot, plugged into power, jacks down and level. That's for about 5 months at a time. The soil in my area is sandy, so no concern about tires on ground here.

It's not covered and windows or vents are open, whether permitting.

Parked on gravel pad at house, plugged into 50 amp circuit. Dehumidifier running draining into kitchen sink with grey tank empty and drain valve open so dehumidifier water drips onto gravel pad. (very humid climate here) Low point water drains open, water heater drained, air system dumped, jacks retracted. All window shades/blinds closed to help keep the sun out.

Converter keeps house battery charged, and I use a harbor freight battery maintainer to keep the chassis batteries charged.

We store our 37' DP in a gravel lot but under a large metal canopy. Roof is protected from the elements as are the sides because the RV is not in an end bay. Last year I purchased a 4' x 8' x1" thick hard rubber mat (manufactured for horse trailer floors) which I cut into 4 pieces and placed under the tires. They work great and are very durable. I also cover the tires. I sometimes use the jacks if the RV is stored for 2 or 3 months but not very often because we are frequently on the road. When the RV is stored I go out every couple of weeks and start the CAT and let it run for about 30 minutes. I also run the generator for 30 minutes every month or two under load.

I have on occasions used the low point drain in freezing temperatures but it usually doesn't get that cold where we are or where we travel.

Ours parks beside the garage attached to the house, on an extension of the asphalt driveway that runs the length of the garage. It's level front-to-back with just a slight drop toward the driver's side, away from the house. The house shelters it from most of the winds and a lot of the driving snow. Water tank and plumbing drained with the low point drains open, water heater drain plug out, and AC power handy to top off the batteries now and then. Pink stuff in all the drains, and enough in the tanks to cover the dump valves. I went out and started the engine and idled it for a half hour or so a few times when temperatures climbed into the 30's; just let it "hibernate" through the worst subzero stretches. Came through this frigid winter without a hitch.

No mice problems, either -- the neighborhood cats love to go right through my yard where it sits, and even shelter underneath it often!

Keep mine under covered storage that has 50 and 30 amp hookups, sewage, and water. Just back it into my spot, pull the shades down, set the emergency brake, and click the disconnect buttons for power. Most people there keep their's plugged in when not in use, but I only plug in if it's going to be sitting more than 3 weeks.

She's parked in her garage, all systems fired up for immediate departure! The garage is plumbed for Oasis System exhaust, so the heating system is available in the winter. When the weather breaks... we're gone!!

In a secure lot, shades drawn, tires covered and battery disconnects turned off unless I am plugging it in. I have a great guy that runs the place. I bring him smoked BBQ when I make it and it keeps him happy.

Asphalt storage lot, covered, coach batteries out and home on a charger, fridge door open, shades drawn, jacks up, it has been cleaned and waxed before storage, stabil in the gas and generator lines, I visit every month at least and run the generator as well. We store for the summer, leave for the winter normally.
