Turpentine, it is not a derivative of petroleum, thus will not harm any material that says to avoid using any type of petroleum-based product.

They make anti static tack type rags now devillibus brand. We would always give a good wash and wet sand with Palmolive.. Dawn is rough on hands all day long. Wiped down with 3812 enamel reducer. Prepsol is good wax stripper , seen it l
cause issues in final stages when used too wet. Tack rag and a spray with 3812 that had anti static additive. Not sure body shop supply carry much enamel reducer anymore. Cleanliness ,bug and static control would be my main concern next. I would have 2 different speed reducers ready the humidity may act a slowing agent.

I have this Eastwood "Pre-Painting Prep" solvent. I'm not sure what is in it - but was going to be my final wash down before wiping with tack rag and spraying.
