how long 50 gallon water last ?

newbee question aprox, how many minutes will 50 gallons of water last for a shower ? do you think it would last for 5 minutes or more ?

This is just a suggestion. Find a container of a known capacity (like a 1 gallon container). Turn on your shower and let it fill the container while you time how long it takes. You can figure it out easily for there.

2 of us with quick showers daily and our normal coffee and cooking and dishes can go 3-4 days on 50 gallons

Depends on your shower head flow rate, how long you take to shower, and how much flow your pump puts out.

Three people, three days with quick showers. Our fresh water tank is 100 gal, but the grey tank (50gal) fills after three days.

How big is your hot water tank - unless you are a fan of cold showers, there is the limiting factor. Figuring about a 50/50 mix of cold to how water, a 6 gallon hot water heater give you about 12 gallons of shower water. At say 2 gallons/minute, that would be a 6 minute shower. But you can get shower heads that mix in more air, so that you may only have 1 gallon/minute coming from the shower head. But you do need to see water your shower head delivers at a force you find suitable.

We have one of the Body Spa ones from CW. Supposed to be about 1 to 1.5 gpm. In fact I liked it so well I got one for the stick house. Wife loves it as it does a good job of rinsing her hair out. Need to get another one for the grandsons bath/shower since he like long showers.

Carefull not all rigs are similar. My dynasty with Aquahot will make hotwater until you run out of water. You learn to take a navy shower early on in boondocking wet, soap, shampoo, rinse about 2 gal total use

Same with our 10 gallon WH although if it's just on electric then it might, but on gas, no.

I get to toot my horn on this question-

We've owned our houseboat for 7 years, we lived on it all summer for the first 4 years, and we're there every weekend pretty much now.

Our water tank is 52 gallons. If anyone knows how far 50 gallons of water will go, it's me! (puffing out my chest)

As for showers- you can do 'spit showers' on 3 to 5 gallons of water easily. Get the water temp how you like it, get wet, then shut the water off at the shower head- That will take about 1.5 gallons. After soaping up, you can rinse off nicely using around 2 to 3 gallons, mostly depends on how much hair you have!

The wife & I take showers right after each other all the time and never use all the hot water in our 6 gallon water heater.

Just letting the shower run will use 2 to 3 gallons a minute, depending on how good your water pump is. Ergo, a 15 minute shower can nearly empty a 50 gallon tank...

Few shower heads or the hoses they are connected with will actually deliver more than one gallon/minute. They may be rated higher, but the system as a whole seldom does better than that, at least in an RV.
