We use LP for mostly the furnace when cold even if plugged in. Don't really like space heaters. We also use LP for extensive cooking in our full size gas range. Wife loves to cook. Lucky me. Our 50 gal tank seems to need filling about every 6 months during fall/winter/spring.

Big questions are: How big is your tank and how much do you use?
If you don't use it it lasts forever.
If you have a 1,000 gallon tank then a lot longer than a 5 gallon one.
Do you run a generator off the tank?
With our '02 DSDP and 40 gallon tank running the refer, furnace and cooking I filled the tank every two years whether it needed it or not.

Mr D has it right- too many variables to really compare. If we're camped in freezing weather and running the furnace we'll burn through a 7 gallon tank in perhaps four-five days. Need to heat the basement area and the tanks. In the summer one tank will last the season. Propane frig, water heater, furnace and stove.

We have a 81lb tank on the coach. When travelling, it lasts at least a month. When we wintered in Tucson, and it was going down to 30 degrees at night, I had to have it filled every two weeks.

With that kind of use, if you get an induction cook plate to use when you have A/C our tank gets filled about every other year(still 1/2 full) and we use it 5 months a year. With the oven type microwave and a single induction unit we don't ever use the 3 gas burners. The other big plus is that the induction cook top can be carried outside making it easy to not "bacon" up your coach inside! jmo mark

Propane tank sizing seems to be pretty convoluted - with capacities sometimes expressed in "pounds" (i.e, a typical BBQ tank being a 20 lb tank) while other tanks have capacity expressed in Gallons. It's further obfuscated by the fact that a propane tank's physical capacity typically can't be 100% utilized since space must be left for expansion. The figure I see used most often is that a tank can only enough liquid propane to use 80% of it's total physical capacity.

Our coach has a 39 gallon propane tank (which according to the manual tops out at roughly 31 gallons of liquid propane - taking the 80% full thing into consideration. A "full" 20 pound will contain 4.7 gallons of liquid propane. Looking at all this I figure my 39 gallon tank holds roughly 6.5 times the amount of liquid propane as a typical 20 pound tank does.

The only propane appliances in our coach are a two burner propane stove in the kitchen and an Weber Q2200 grill attached to the auxiliary propane connection on the outside of the coach. I filled the tank when we took possession of the coach (March of 2015) ... and appear to still have roughly 1/3rd of a tank left. We're obviously NOT big propane users.

I believe our tank it is a 40# and we fill it about once a year. We use it quite a bit for the refrigerator and hot water heater. We rarely cook inside and outside we have a toastmaster and grill. we use it sometimes when it gets cold, but since we live in Florida that's not very often

I have a 32 gal tank and the gauge is showing somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 after about a week of use in temps that dipped down into the 20s overnight. The furnace uses a lot of propane.

Way too many variables. We took delivery of our coach new in July 2011 and we are still on the original tank 77,000 miles later. The only propane used in our coach is the 3 burner stove. Cooking is mostly done with microwave/convection oven, reefer is residential and heating and water heater is hydronic (AquaHot). Our previous coach used propane heating and water heater, gas/electric reefer and that coach did suck a lot of propane in colder weather.

We fill our 105 lbs tank about every 18 months. Use for the stove, oven and furnace for about 5 or 6 nights of winter camping. Normally use electric for hot water unless we have heavy load going on, then will change to LP.
