Mine works great also. Was in OH two weeks ago in the mid 90's and I didn't even have to run the coach air.

Cost effective

In my 3rd used coach and dash air has been a problem in all of them.
Repaired the air in the 1st coach and it worked for 1 year. I haven't repaired the air in the next 2 coaches because it was too costly for a short term fix. The current coach has over the road air and it wont be repaired. I can run the genny for a year and still be money ahead. Diesel is cheaper than shop/hour prices.

Mine has been working great since Freightliner replaced the compressor last September.

Ours quit a couple years ago and it's on my list of things to have fixed but the wife is very sick, off work and being tested for liver cancer this week so it's kind of been pushed back!

Ours works good. Past owner had it fixed at one time.

My dash air works great since I had it charged. It was only low a couple of pounds but it sure made a world of difference.

Don't understand why there should be a connection between being a DP and dash air not working. Mine is fine. Only issue is that both cooling and heating are much better at lower speed so have to adjust between highway and town.

Could the distance between the engine and front of coach be the issue in the cooling? Not sure but posing the question.

The DP's suffer because of the length of line running from compressor/condenser to front of coach. When the weather gets hot, the roads get hot and the chassis' just bake.

My dash air worked fairly well (I thought) last summer and fall, until it started cycling strangely about the time we got to our winter place. I resolved to get it repaired in the spring. Come springtime, it seemed fine. Then the engine mounted combressor seized, and after the repair that sucker was putting out "wicked cold" air, and lots of it!
