How many hours on your generator

Was reading a thread here about using generator while driving and it got me wondering how many hours many of you have on your generator. I have about 1100 hours to date and run it while driving in hot weather as well as when parked at rest areas, wal-marts, etc. So how many hours on yours

I still don't have very many hours on mine yet since it's still new, but I'm guessing you are eluding to the questions of if high hours is a good thing.

Yes it is as long as you are performing the services within a reasonable time.

My old gas genset had over 4K on it. The first owner took very good care of it. The only time I had a problem with it was after it had been stored (not used) for months at a time. The gas would gum up the carb every time.

We have a little over 500 hours. We use it primarily when needed driving down the road and when arriving at the camp ground and setting up.

2200 hours on a 7500 Onan and it is still going strong. Use while it stopped and also going down the road to run 2 a/c's.
Good luck, good health and safe travels!

Onan 4000 microquiet - 3,127 hrs shown on the meter when I changed the oil in it last month. I bought this "new-to-me" MH last fall so not sure if its original or not. It looks in real good condition (physically)

It won't do MACH 2, but I can get a sandwich and take a pee.

About 350 hrs. I exercise it for 1 hr per month at a minimum and treat the gas with Stabil when it's stored.

1440 hrs. on a 10,000K OD. Runs like a sewing machine. Solid as Sears! We also run it while driving when it is HOT!

My Onan 10kW is just getting ready to roll over 3,000 hours, I think it is about 20 hours or so shy. Maintenance is key. The diesel Onans will go many, many hours if properly maintained. Things people neglect are the coolant and the belts for the cooling system. There are more items on a maintenance schedule than just oil changes.

I am not afraid to run mine, that is what we bought if for and why we pack it around. Most of the time now it is just when traveling in high heat to run the A/C units. Most of my earlier hours were accumulated from racing and time spent at the sand dunes.

We don't boondock nearly as much any more.

Mike.
