How many miles should a new MH have on it?

We're buying a 2014 leftover (never titled) and it has 2500 miles on it. I asked where those miles came from and the salesman said it was the mileage from the factory to their south Florida dealership, the miles from there to Orlando (where it is now) and the miles from going to shows. I'm not sure where the Fleetwood factory is (Indiana is about 1200 mi or so from South Florida ) so maybe the mileage seems reasonable. My last new car had 9 miles on it (I don't think they drove it from the factory to the dealership)

Anyway, how many miles were on your MH when you bought it?

It has been driven some after delivery from factory but I would not be concerned. I would ask if I were buying it, that the dealer change the filter and oil. Your warranty will begin at the milage shown on the bill of sale..

. Our's had a bit over 5k when we bought near the end of the model year in July 2003. It was a dealer show coach, and had been taken to shows around TX and OK, plus mileage from the Winnie factory IA.

Your absolutely right. Your motorhome should only have 9 mi ; just like your car. I guess you havent seen the trains and semi's loaded with motorhomes coming from the factories. I couldnt help myself!

79 miles! I special ordered it and picked it up at the factory. Some of those miles were on a dyno, some on a skid pad, and the rest was a drive around the country side.

I'm wondering if this is one of the dealers that has multi locations (Like RV direct) they move their RVs from Lot to lot when one is not selling and since they have quite a few lots I can see where another 1k could be added... does the sticker show the coach being sold to that dealer in FLA or another location? You may want to check the year of the chassis as well, I've seen alot of 2014 listed coaches that have 2013 chassis when I've looked up the Vin... dealers froget to mention that point....

It is good that it has been driven 2500 miles. That is when the factory defects show up and get fixed.

It could have been delivered to a dealer out west and then sent to your dealer to get it sold.

I don't know where Fleetwood is built either, but several are built in the Goshen, In. area so I used that as a starting point. From there to Miami to Orlando is 1,576 miles so if it was driven to shows then I could believe 2,500.

Ask for a fresh oil change, check it over carefully because if it was a show demo every cabinet door has been opened 1,000 times. If that checks out then I wouldn't sweat it.

Make sure you get a little more off since it was used as a show demo.

Ours had 750 miles on it. Bought it in Minnesota, Winnebago product from Forest City, IA. The extra miles over the delivery miles were from a trip back to Forest City for a replacement of a slide wall that had a fiberglass defect.
