It's nice that everyone is giving excuses. They are not needed. Everyone has the right to ask, and everyone has the right to say no. I would just tell him that this is NOT a good idea. Too much can go wrong and too little can go right. But thanks for asking.

This sort of reminds me of the time a couple years after I built my house I found a cement mixer on sale. I showed the ad in the newspaper to a friend and next door neighbor who happened to be visiting at my place. After looking at the ad he said, "It's about time someone in the neighborhood bought one". Seems as though he had a few projects he wanted to do also.
I was so upset I never did buy that mixer.

We have seat belts for 10 and add-a-room for the awning so extra people are not the problem. its convincing the extra people that a weekend excursion does not require them to bring two weeks of crap with them.

I transport only two (wife and I).

Many years ago, five friends and I, took friend's Prevost with enclosed trailer (holding 6 motorcycles) from Minneapolis to Daytona. We all took turns driving, and never stopped except for fuel (that's when we also changed drivers). There was no issues.
The owner of the coach, slept in it down in FLA, and we all had hotel rooms. There was no drinking/partying in the coach while in motion. Every night we had BBQ at the coach, and drank like skunks, but rode cabs to our rooms, leaving the bikes with the coach.

I would NEVER turn my coach into a "party bus". Never.

Tell your DH that friends/family that are asking for it, are NOT real friends. There is some respect lacking there, when they have the audacity to ask.

A motor home is NOT a bus. I would never, EVER do this! Absolutely no way, no how.

Lynn, Now you know that your reply SHOULD have been, Yup, and you can borrow it just as soon as you buy that $250,000.00 motor home and let ME borrow IT!

Update: I used the "I own 50%" line with DH. He's backed down and I really think he just wanted to show off the rig. But he can have the family see it when we drive it up for the wedding (we're sleeping in it not transporting the wedding party!)

12 to a Miami Dolphins Game, parked in the RV lot.

Had a ball, no damage....tires were aired up to accommodate the load.

Short distance but all were VERY respectful of the MH and enjoyed the experience.

So did I.

Two solutions: just say no or request $50,000 up front to hold for any damages that "will" occur. My brother asked me also for a nascar race, was easy to say no thanks.

I totally get the "wanting to show it off" part:

ME: "An this is the galley, the bath, the shower... and back here is the master bedroom where Ava and I sleep."

FRIEND: "And where do your guests sleep?"

ME: "At whatever motel is close by."

I would do this too, with close friends I could trust to follow the ground rules and respect my property. But I presume many of the "guests" would be friends of the future BIL that the owner probably doesn't know, and that makes a big difference.

Besides... when was the last time anyone followed any rules at a bachelor party, let alone respect anyone else's property?
