How much weight can the slider Hold?

Hi all. new to the life and RV. retiring 2 months. want to get rid of game table/dining table, 4 chairs, all hardwood for some custom made cabinets to put on either side of couch/bed(flexsteel). Concerned how to know if exceeding maximum weight on the slider. Using lighter weight replacements. this is 3 slide, Alpine 2003. 38.5. this would be living room slide, driver side of coach.

thanks guys,
judyandlisa&2olddogs.
Hitting the road soon.

How big are the cabinets or how much do they weigh? I would think you would be OK, main slides seam to be able to handle a lot.

Hi judyandlisa,
Welcome to iRV2. If you weigh everything you take out and everything you put in, you'll know the difference, if there is a difference.

Is the slide a flat floor slide? In other words does the slide go down as it gets to its' fully extended position making a flat floor? Or does the slide just go straight out? The reason I mention this is the flat floor slide may be a bit more critical on weight than a slide that just goes in/out.

A non scientific way to determine if a problem exists is to consider:
With your current configuration, have one person (who will disclose their weight) sit in the slide as it is opened and closed. If that works okay, have two people sit in the slide and run the same test. Did anything seem different? Did the motor or mechanisms make any unusual noises? If not, you can, most likely, feel comfortable the weigh of the two people and the weight of the items taken out of the slide can be returned to the slide as the new configuration.

I asked this question about my 2000 Pace Arrow Vision main slide and the answer came back at 350 lbs.

Thanks for feedback

Thanks for the feedback on the slider weight. It is the kind of slide that goes down when it gets all the way out. But I can't see them weighing anymore than 350 lbs. Think I better weigh what I'm taking out to make sure. Thanks for the ideas.
