How to change out cup holders-2016 Tiffin Phaeton 40 QBH

We love our new coach with the exception of the cupholders on both p/s and d/s.

We like to use large insulated glasses with lids and straws, but after buying and returning various shapes of glasses many times, we realize that the only thing that fits in these holders are the insultated coffee cups with the small bottoms.

Therefore, the holders themselves have to be replaced.
Has anyone else replaced these holders?
If so, what did you replace them with and where did you get it.
Did you run into any snags doing it?

Thanks for any help that you can give us.

"dcmquinn".....We also like to use the large drink cups, 24 oz or even 30 oz. We found the insulated Tervis cups have a small enough bottom that they fit into the holders.

I recently bought myself a gift of a Yeti 30 ounce tumbler. They're about $45, all stainless and keep things either cold or hot for an amazing amount of time. I went to order my two son-in-laws ones for Christmas, but they are backordered until spring and the few people who have them want $65.00.

Amazon has a variety and some may fit into your openings if the above doesn't help http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&key...sl_xr5jgmj3y_e

Depends where the holders are at and whats behind/under. Camping world has some that are bigger and deeper. Also amazon, ebay etc normally carry replacements. Where my cup holder are located, I can't install larger ones, so like you, we've bought different cups. Mostly I just hold them between the legs (gets old). I'll be following this thread also.

I have the same issue and have been looking into solutions as well. I have a gas coach and am thinking of a cabinet that attaches to the doghouse, but haven't made a final decision yet.

My cup holders are small diameter and not deep so cups fall over.

"vettenuts:......Take a look at the 2016 Newmar, I believe Bay Star brochure. They have an optional doghouse table that has two cup holders and opens into a larger table, either flips or slides open. We've been trying to find one to look at. My sister just bought a new Southwind and someone pointed out this shelf/table that Newmar was offering. My sister may mount it to her doghouse since it's the same doghouse cover on her Southwind.

Having the same coach, we had the same cupholders. They were virtually useless. I found some the same diameter, but about an inch deeper and installed those in place of the existing for the driver and passenger. Although no difference in diameter, being deeper made a huge difference in the stability. We generally use them for bottled water.

Look at boat cup holders. They are large, stainless steel and fold up when not in use. Some are gimbals so they sway with the road. West Marine has several choices.
