How to remove a radiator.

I want to remove the radiator on my 04 Sportscoach so I can put new belts, hoses and bearings (fan hub and idler pulley). Can anyone give me an idea what is involved? Thanks

It is a Freightliner chassis with a 3126 Cat.

It is going to be more trouble and work to remove the radiator to do the work than work around it. You should be able to reach everything from within the coach

You might be right unless he wants to be 100% sure the air path is not dirty.

Removing a rear rad can be a real nightmare. Friend's Diplomat , rad shop had to cut the rear cap, after phoning manufacturer to confirm that cutting was the only option short of complete removal, of the rear cap , to get his out.
They did a great job of keeping the cuts straight, and from 10' away you can't tell the seams aren't factory.
Another member with an 04, Freightliner , W/Cat , Sportscoach who has pulled his rad is the only person who will be able to tell you for sure.

This might be a good opportunity to see how well a Freightliner Oasis dealership works. Your plan is going to be,,,,,trouble!

There are a number of posts on this subject. There are also different approaches to accessing the belts and bearing as well as cleaning the radiator and CAC.

Search the Freightliner and Caterpillar sites on the forum. You will find lots of good info.
