How to troubleshoot a battery boost set-up in a 96 Mountain Aire

I posted a thread that read" battery boost not working". What I should of said is" how do I troubleshoot a battery boost on a 1996 Newmar Mountain Aire DP". When the battery boost button is pushed the black solenoid in the power cord compartment clicks. I KNOW ALL BATTERIES ARE UP AND GOOD. I have had this coach for 5 years and the battery boost has never worked. I have a picture of the whole set-up but can't figure out how to up load it to this thread. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Well if the solenoid clicks then that means the switch is good and the wiring back to the solenoid is good. So now if you use a 12 v test lamp or a multimetter and check for 12 volts on BOTH of the large terminals on the solenoid. They should both read 12 volts if each side of the solenoid is hooked up to each of the house and chassis batteries. If they both read 12 volts then the solenoid is bad. If the solenoid looks like an older Ford starter motor solenoid then go to car parts store and buy an older type Ford starter solenoid. Any of the Fords from the 1960's through the 1970's will work. The only difference may be if you have one or two small terminals. Either one can be 12 v from the front switch and the other is ground.

If you only read 12 volts on one of the large terminals on the solenoi then you need to follow that heavy cable that didn't have 12 volts on it back to the battery and see if it is connected up.

trouble shooting battery boost

Thanks for the reply Mike:
Here is what I have found so far. The two large post on the black solenoid the says "White-Rogers/RBM" has 12 volts on both. the bottom post has a black battery cable that runs thru the wall. the top post has a cable that goes to the right post on the ignition proof coach chassis solenoid/relay,also the right post on the ignition proof coach chassis solenoid has a large black battery cable that runs thru the wall always has 12 volts, the left side of the ignition proof coach chassis solenoid/relay has voltage only when the boost switch is pushed. Looks like everything in there is working. now I am going to craw under it and try to see if both battery cables are hookede up.
Thanks again
Ron
