Smile Hurricane 31d

I have a deposit on a hurricane 31d that I have only seen pictures of. There are about 3 or four of these just above 40k in my area, I agreed to be out the door at under 40K. Should this concern me? It is my first RV and the dealer is reputable. The rig was first listed at 72K and their reason for dropping the price so much was because they had the rig for so long. Is this a good first rig? What should I keep an Eye out for if anything. Thanks for any input

What year? Hurricane was Four Winds, but was gobbled up by the pacman named Thor. I traded up from a '12 Hurricane 32A to my Vista. If the trade did not work out, the DW and I both agreed that we would still be happy in the Hurricane. Outside of two or three small things that should have been caught in quality control, it was a problem free coach for the almost one year that we owned it (ours resold in less than a month). In fact, it had some standard things we miss a lot, and wish the Vista came with... individually controlled dash fans, dash generator start switch, switch indicator lites to start the generator after priming, dash radio with weather alert and did not have to be switched between chassis and house to keep from losing settings while turned off, and valve extenders. With all that said, we still think the Vista was a step up for us due to Winnebago's quality, but the Hurricane was still a good motorhome.

I agree with DeWat. We had a 2008 Hurricane that we bought in 2010 new. We loved. Took it all over the country until we traded it in for our Bounder Classic last year. No problems with the Hurricane other than my own dumb mistakes. Don't worry. Enjoy it.

Hurricane

Thank you for your input. I am actually looking at some older (04 Sightseer/01 sun cruiser) rigs that, while older, I know are built better through and through. The hurricane is an 06. We just want to get our feet wet used and Are paying all cash. Maybe a big new nice one when the boys are out of the house. It will be in our driveway, and in california the rv parks have limited or no space for 33 and over. All three are under 30k miles and the Hurricane is under 12. I have a friend that used to build for fleetwood and he recommended the older sight seer because of quality but said at under 40k with only 11k+ miles that the Hurricane would be a good buy. Just nervous, which is odd for me. But then this is a big purchase.

Hurricane is a good starter, but be sure you like the floor plan in anything you get. Good luck...
