A hydraulic hose on my 2003 Rexhall, sprang a leak. Took it in to an RV repair place. The service advisor just called me and said that besides the one that is now leaking, virtually all of the hydraulic hoses had deteriorated to the point of being failures waiting to happen.
I have read through a prior post from 2008, :" As you know there was a HWH recall on defective hoses in 2002. Now the defective fittings are treated on a case by case basis, no recall..... so you have to deal with HWH to pick up part of the cost....They did in our case but we still had to pay as I stated above. Most of the time we are at RV Parks that do not allow working on MH so your kind of stuck or you move to work on it.
Note: HWH should have a recall on the fittings too! BUT... "
I sure hope and pray that HWH makes good on this.

Bob, i sure hope HWH gives you some help on your repairs but it hardly seems that 12 year hoses failed from a defect and not age. Hydrolic hoses are normally under a lot of pressuer and stress and 12 years is a long time. If it were Ford, Chevy or Dodge, even with a recall they would probably just put you off. Good luck.

I think after 11+ years on the roads of Ohio and other northern states I would expect to have to replace the hoses and perhaps some of the wiring, etc. As the other post stated these are under pressure and with the heat and salt, etc of the road many items under the coach will fail.
My coach is only 5 years old and low miles but had no maintenance or care before we purchased it. We have replaced and repaired components on 2 of our levelers and step assembly. I am trying to protect and test the repaired units as best possible for the future.
Wasn't in the budget but I will deal with it.

Well I just returned from a trip to Elkhart to get the hydraulic hoses replaced. ( Spent some time in the RV Hall of Fame while she was in the shop ). The shop had to replace all, every one, of the hydraulic hoses, to the tune of $1500. He showed me the old ones, and they were indeed rotting, with the jacket/covers coming off. He said that I was fortunate that one didn't break while the vehicle was in motion and spray hot fluid on the engine or exhaust....kaboom...
My RV/travel fund has taken a real hit, but you do what you gotta do.
