HWH Manual Control Panel Wiring

Friends,

I have a slight problem, during my floor replacement in my 2003 Newmar my friend disconnected the connectors from the HWH control panel without noting how the connectors were connected. I've called HWH, searched the internet and sent HWH a couple of emails, so far no joy. I wonder if someone with a similar HWH system would take out the four screws on the panel, pull it up and take a picture which I could then use to reconnect the panel. As we found out to our amazement, no panel connection no gas pedal response. How's that for a failsafe?

Thanks and keep smiling,
Bob

If you have the 625 or the 625S model.
here is a link to the Installation Manual.

http://www.hwhcorp.com/ml44818.pdf

You can also do a google search for your system and I am sure you will find an installation or Service manual for it.

Here are the pix of the panel I have and what I have connected now. Since there are more pins on the plugs than there are on the panel I want to make sure before I burn something up.

Looks like you might have the 310 series system. Click on Manual link. Some wiring is mentioned for the control panel.

Looks like it shows color coded wiring so you should be able to figure it out from the pix in the manual.

I have the 310 system , with air dump, control pad is the same as you photo with one more button , and I've run through the wiring diagrams for the installation ; and can find no connection to throttle , or engine ECM, so you may have more than one problem.
What chassis is your coach on?

If you think pictures of my control pad would help , PM me and I'll take some in the morning .

Thanks to All,
The link to the 310 Manual is what I was looking for, I will figure it out from that. As always everyone on this site is gracious and helpful. I hope I can return the favor someday. Oh, on the throttle issue -- I confirmed twice that the throttle would not function with the panel disconnected. After connecting the wiring to the panel it worked normally and the 'check guages' warning also went out. I will be bringing the MH home this weekend and will confirm this.
Keep Smiling,
Bob

bob, something in the wiring is not hooked up right. hwh does not have anything to do with engine operation. you may have a wire from the park brake hooked to the wrong wire, or something like that.
i know it works that way on your coach, but thats not normal wiring for a hwh system.
let me know if i can help. i do work for hwh. i do diagnostics only. i do not sell parts or solicit service.

Bob and Paul,

I think if I remember the wiring from the panel goes to the Brake Switch on the Tranny control and also the Air Dump goes to the tranny switch.

If the HWH panel wiring is disconnected then these two functions (dump and brake) lose their path to completion. Therefore the tranny(in my case an MD3060) won't let the accelerator work. Bob's system wiring may be similar to mine.

So Bob's may be wired correctly and it may be the tranny not causing the accelerator to work.

But again I am not sure about this.

If it is like mine and appears to be I drove with my control pad disconnected for several hundred miles. On mine there are only five wires and I'll take a photo and send to you if you still need it. I suggest contacting AZPete (above post #10) he helped me a great deal on the phone when I was about 3000 miles from home. I'd probably still be trying to figure out the problem if I didn't have his help.

Yes he has helped me to. When I had a blowout it cut my harnesses to shreads. So I had to start from scratch with no knowledge.

Its great to have a company man on this forum. Highly recommend him because he is so willing to help. Thank you AZpete!!!

Well the 310/325 connection diagram didn't help. The reason is that one of the cables has all black and one white wire (see pix). I'm guessing that I have it right, but only a 'smoke test' will confirm or deny it.
