HWH Manual Leveler Problem

I have a 1999 Damon Intruder motor home with HWH manual leveling jacks. The passenger side rear leveling jack would not retract when the lever was placed in the store position. I am the third owner of this coach so I had no idea how old the springs were. I read in the troubleshoot section of my HWH manual that weak springs could cause this problem. I ordered new springs for both rear jacks and replaced same. Now the jacks will retract ok but the passanger side jack now deploys too far and this jack cannot reach the vertical position.

Does anyone have any advice about what the cause of this might be and what the remedy is? Thanks for any help you may offer.
