Is there a (max red line) RPM point where you should get concerned with Ford V10 gasser? For best mileage I try to keep it at 2500, and max of 3500 but then that's mostly Flatlander driving (read: Florida).

I do not believe it will over rev because of a limiter built in but maxing out at 3500 RPM means you are not even in the power band. You get the most HP up around 4300 to 4500 RPM and that is the max I will run at even though it will go up to 5000. The V10 is a high reving engine and designed to be that way.

There's only one "Boeing Plant" that does escorted public tours. It's the wide-body manufacturing facility in Everett. Tours start from a facility on the west side of Paine Field (the county airport where the plant is located), just south of SR525 which is the road from I-5 that goes past the plant towards the west. You are taken to the actual factory by Boeing tour buses.

There are other public facilities in the area with connections to Boeing and other airplanes. One of the best is the Museum of Flight on the west side of King County Airport (aka Boeing Field), a few miles south of downtown Seattle. The exhibits include a Concorde, B-17, B-29 the very first 727, the prototype 747 and a Presidential 707 VIP airplane. The Museum also has a Restoration Center at Paine Field with public access.

Another museum at Paine is one owned by Microsoft co-founder, Paul Allen. This is a historical museum whose airplanes are airworthy, mainly WW2 machines. They have regular flying displays on weekends.

The Boing plant tour was really quite fun. You get to walk along a raised level floor overlooking the actual planes on the production line. One tip though, make sure you use the restroom before the tour starts, once you leave there are no bathroom breaks

You won't have a problem with the Rockies in a gasser. Many of the steep grades have pull offs that allow you to cool down if your engine is getting too hot. No problemo!!

I seriously doubt you will find any steeper grades on I-90 that you will find on I-24 (if you go thru Chattanooga to Nashville and up) than you will find at Mont eagle as you climb up to the Cumberland Plateau. You will have no problems. Stay off the brakes as you start descending any long or steep grade.

You might want to look into buying a 5Star Tune box. We just installed one about a month ago and the difference is dramatic. It increases torque and horsepower and improves shifting.
We drive it into the mountains/Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee and the handling was great. We're heading out to Yellowstone in the Fall and I feel better having made the upgrade.

We did Eisenhower in our gas rig BUT it was a 17' Type B (8,800'#s) with a 460 engine and trailer towing gears and we weren't towing anything. Hardly even noticed it.

I think I-90 is a really good road and we have driven it from Wisconsin to Seattle. If I recall going through the rockies in MT and ID is not nearly as daunting as Colorado - no 12,000' passes to cross (6300 is highest). I doubt there is anything your motorhome can't easily handle - just gear down and enjoy the drive.

We have traveled both directions over I-70, I-80, and also I-90 in our Ford chassis motorhome more than once. We were towing a car on every one of those trips, a Ford Ranger at first and then several times with our Honda CR-V. With sensible driving, it is no big deal.

Times two on the 5 star une if you have the ford V10 with the five speed trans. The factory setting causes the trans to down shift from fifth to third skipping fourth gear. This cause the engine RPM to race up to five K. The five star tune will put fourth gear back in play. Our first trip from Ohio to Nashville we didn't have the tune and going through the hills in Ky, the engine would scream at every hill. We installed the five star tune before our recent trip to South Dakota and the difference was amazing. The trans now downshifts to fourth and max rpm is around 3k. The engine us a high reving engine but the noise is very loud when it drops from fifth to third. Five Star us worth every penny.
