I have decided to sell the Motor Home

After some thought I have decided to sell the Motor Home. We just don't use it enough to justify the expense of storage and upkeep not to mention the depreciation while spending time in storage. I am starting to work on the listing for posting in the iRV2 classified as well as other places. I am not pressed to sell so I am not rushing out to make a quick sell at a low price. The unit is in great shape with numerous updates in equipment that will be covered in the listing.

Any thoughts that others may have on putting together a good listing would be appreciated.

I would advise getting a few appraisals to see what the rear world value is. Most of the time a MH is not worth what the owner thinks it is. If you find that the value is considerably different from your opinion, you might reconsider. If your signature is correct, it won't depreciate much each year. In a year or two, you might feel different and find more times to enjoy it.

I would do a search on as many of the sites that people list RV's for sale along with major RV dealerships to see what the asking price is of the model/year you are selling. The asking price is usually ~15-25% different then the actual sale price.

If you can find a listing of the is Model/year on Ebay follow it and see what it sells for as this may give you an idea of value.

Check Craigslist also for pricing.

The biggest thing in your favor is you have time and don't have to jump at the first offer. The longer you delay will result in depreciation.

The reality is that the RV is probably not worth what you think it is. I sold my Class C after buying my current unit, took 6 months and I ended up selling for ~17% less then what I was asking.
