I love older coaches
Having my coach only about six months, I have found that I really enjoy seeing older coaches (20 years old or so) and speaking to the owners. I find it amazing that so many older coaches are still going strong.
I met an owner of a 1999 Dutch Star last week. His coach looked like new. He said he'd owned it 10 years and had little trouble with it, but had made a number of improvements and of course all the typical maintenance. It had nearly 100k on the clock. He planned to take it to Florida from Michigan, later this year.
Look at this 1997 Monaco Dynasty, with 107,000 miles. Looks pretty good. Owner just got back to Michigan from California, mostly trouble free. He said it took the mountains without a problem. He is selling it for $32,000. Not a bad deal. He claims it gets 10 mpg, with no slides or tag axle.

We bought a 1999 35 footer from a friend last year. He bought it new and it only put 15000 miles on it. We put all new tires, did all maintenance, and did some upgrades. We have almost doubled the miles on it and are enjoying it thoroughly. No payments on it and we are enjoying seeing the country.

I agree. Here's mine, a 1998 Beaver Patriot Monticello 40'
Magnum Chassis and a CAT 3126 330hp diesel, 6 spd Allison
96k miles, first year produced with a slide out. Paint is immaculate, like the day it rolled off the assembly line.

We bought a 1999 Southwind a year and a half ago.. Not a lot of automation, thats OK. New paint, some fixing here and there. No reason it won't serve us for 5-10 years..

Had a 2 week trip from Fl up to PA in May and June.
7 nights out to the FL panhandle week before last.
She is 20 years old, has been ours for almost 10 years now.
No real issues...just regular PM and the issues you would expect with the 20 year old plastic bits.
Even with the 90+ degree days , only need to run one A/C at night to stay nice and comfy!

We drive through the campgrounds here in Branson often to see what coaches are there. It is always interesting to see the almost "Vintage" coaches in well maintained condition. There are often manufactures I have never heard of and many we see are very rare. they are mixed in with the 1 to 2mm dollar coaches and it looks great to see that.

Older motorhomes are very popular right now. Even Motorhome magazine has started a monthly series showcasing older coaches.

We bought a 1997 Fleetwood Discovery 36rs about a year ago. It has one slide on it. We both love it. After we got it we did basic stuff to it as well as replacing the roof and all new tires on it. Just last month, we took a 5,000 mile trip in it. It now has about 59,000 miles total on it. We have a couple small weekend getaways planned this year and another long trip next year in May.
