We have been RV'ers for a very long time. Last 3 have been 5th wheels and certainly enjoy our KOTR. All the luxury of home! But as we age, seems we both are thinking that our next move in the next 2-3 years will be into a Class A.

I am very well educated in 5rs but honestly, Not sure where to start on Class A's. Driving a big rig is not an issue. I have a CDL. More interested in what is considered top 3-4 units to look at?

Are there any specific operating systems that we need to consider over the other?

We would be most interested in 40-45' Bath & 1/2.

It would probably help if you told us a bit more. Are you looking to buy new or preowned? If preowned what age range are you looking at? Based on your experience I'd say you probably have seen a lot of the the Class As around at the campgrounds. Anything in particular grab your eye?

In my opinion, a used Newell, Foretravel, Entegra or Newmar would do nicely.

We have seen several at shows and in parks. A neighbor had a new one that we really liked I think it was 43' might have been 45. I forgot the brand. I guess I need to start writing things down!! We really liked the bed that had feature of semi-recline. Allows you of course more room in and around the bed.

As for new/used. Would be looking at rig 4-5 yrs old or newer. Really, also depends on the condition and how it is equipped.

Make sure to get hydronic heating (aquahot...hydrohot....oasis)

Make sure to get a residential refrigerator

Big generator

Big inverter

Lots of batteries

If you can find a good one, a 2004 - 2007 Monaco Signature would be great coach. The handling of the Roadmaster chassis in second to none. There seems to be a few of these around that are really nice. It's one of the best built coaches Monaco ever made. Of course I'm prejudiced since we have one. Absolutely love it and have been full time in it for two years now.

Before we bought ours, I would take pictures of coaches I liked so I could check then out later and I wouldn't forget. You can even text the picture to yourself with any notes.

Something no one else has mentioned yet is storage space. Inside you get what you get but consider a coach with a basement, meaning full length storage area that goes all the way thru to the other side. My coach has two, one with a slide tray that you can pull out by hand for easy access and the other for larger bulky items. Doors on both sides of the coach and lighted.

To add to pasdad1:
Heated floors if possible as they are sooooo nice on cold mornings.
Electric fireplace. Between the heated floors and fireplace we rarely us the AquaHot furnace.
Stacked washer/dryer.
