We deploy at least one slide most of the time when staying at WM. Like you, we try to put it out over the grass but most times we are parallel to the lanes taking up two rows of parking spaces way out in the front 40 of the store so there is plenty of room for slide out without disturbing anyone or hanging out into a lane.

I wasn't even skinny enough to fit through that when I was 10.

Now I didn't think I was fat, until I tried to squeeze through that hall opening. And you can't go through the bathroom because the end of the bedroom slide blocks that when closed. Now we don't overnight at WM or rest stops that often, but when we do, I need to get to the dang bed!

that's what I like about or alpine... it's just as usable with the slides in

We don't have slides but do have a wide body, 8 1/2 feet wide. Seems to be plenty of room for us. DW would prefer slides but she would definitely change her mind if she could not get to the bathroom with slides pulled in.

Dear God .... I wouldn't even consider a purchase without a test drive. Maybe some folks test drive with the slides out but I've never tried that trick !!

If you have friends who make you laugh, spend lots of time with them.
