Darn, I totally missed that point! Besides, it would be time to shop for a new RV on the Insurance Companies dime, wouldn't it?!? And THEN I wouldn't have to sort out that problem with the rear heat pump either!

This whole thread could be without stress if everyone bought a rig with no slides like we did.
14 years of enjoyment.... No meteor fears, and can get to the bed, closets, and bathrooms while underway.

Yes, but unless you are both super skinny you can't walk side by side passing each other without turning sideways.

Can't even do that with slides in on most RV's now!

I can access everything with the slides in: kitchen, bathroom, bunks, bedroom.
And with the slides out the room is magnificent and never had a single slide issue because they're built right, not Shwintek junk.
Cheers!

What coach is that, that is 6.5" to get into the bedroom. Measured between the refrig and bathroom door/wall.

Tuscany 38SQ. Although the floorplan I pictured in my post is from a Phaeton 40AH (same layout) that I had interest in but no where near me to actually see one.

Thought that looked like the floorplan of a Tiffin, but they're not 6" so I couldn't figure out what/how you were measuring something so narrow.
Agree it's a problem if you can't get into the back and lay down. Heck, that's my wifes office for conference calls as we're driving.

It's all depending on the depth of the slides & every mfr has different depth slides even for the exact same floorplan. This floorplan is seen across several models by different mfrs. Depending on the depth of the curb slides in each model, I may or may not be able to access the bedroom with slides retracted. For now, this one in a Tuscany is off my list, but there may be hope for other models as long as the curb slide isn't as deep as the one the Tuscany has.

Same here in our Mandalay 40E. If necessary, we could live in it with all four slides in. We made one change...we moved the TV to the driver's side, opposite the love seat. The above the windshield placement of the TV has never made any sense to me. Horrible location.
