I'm not 100% sure abut your parabolic antenna but back when I had in motion in my coach, the dish was fixed, in other words, the dish would rotate 360 degrees in a circle but the actual dish would not tilt which is necessary for the lnb's to pick up the 3 satellites that broadcast HD

Welcome to the forum:

I think you are totally out of luck. As mentioned they need skew and the lnb's are much large and there are a host of other issues. In this case you can't maker a refrigerator out of an oven.

I don't understand your question. Do you want to change the LNB to receive DirecTV Ka band HD broadcasting? If so your out of luck. No dome antenna manufacturer supplies a Ka band DirecTV LNB for their units. Also the antenna's firmware would have to be updated to search for the 3 Ka band satellites that carry DirecTV's HD programing. Word is DirecTV will stop broadcasting SD programing by early 2020 and replace it on the current Ku band 101 satellite with HD programs. Your antenna is already capable of receiving Ku band so the only thing you would need to do is change to a H24 or higher HD receiver.

Agree and since you are in the southern US you can put a SL3 lnb on the old smaller multi sat dish that had the tilt adjust. You do not need the bigger dish for 5 sats which uses a large tripod. Direct SD is going away at some point so you can forget having Direct in motion in the future.
