Inoperable brake and turn signal lights '09 HR Scepter

Hi to all once again,

My 2009 HR Scepter 42PDQ has brake lights and turn signals that are now inoperable. The brake lights quit working first and about 30 minutes later the turn signals quit. I am towing a Demco dolly which plugs into the flat 4 connector an my toad has the separate system wired in independently of the vehicle system and uses the 7 way plug. I have checked fuse, F28 which is good. From what I can tell there are two relays as well, numbers R19 and R26, but I have no way of testing those. Anyone have a similar experience or advice? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Not sure I understand clearly your wiring. However, if your coach has seperate brake and turn signal lamps and circuits, do you have a converter wired into your system for the dolly's lights? If so, I would certainly make sure it is operating as designed. Check power going in and going out. The less expensive ones have lower amperage capability and, if overloaded, will go away, sometimes one circuit at a time. And these things can do some funny things to the coach lighting when they expire. I would look there first....

If those relays are the typical automotive relays, record their model info and go buy a replacement for about $8 or less, or switch one from somewhere else on the rig and put inline to see if a new relay solves the problem.

To all that responded to my query, thanks. I found the problem: blown fuses. The confusion came about when HR corporate told me to look for two fuses which turned out to be good. I received an email the next day from HR coorprate and was given two other fuses to check. Both of these fuses were blown. My coach is missing the fuse and relay ID chart on the inside of the bay door. Perhaps I can find one and replace it.

The culprit in this saga is the Demco tow dolly. I have the SS model which has the folding tongue. Seems that when I folded the tongue and straightened it again, the brake and turn signal wires were pinched. A simple fix. Thanks again to all that responded to my post.
