I'm buying the Tadi 7" wireless camera package, and plan on using one of my three running lights near the top of my coach. Was wondering if those who did a similar install, just removed the light, and installed the camera in its place, or drilled a hole just under the light, and connect to the wires from there, and leave the light ? Since I have 3 lights in that area, I would think the best option would be to just remove the light and install the camera in its place. Input ??

You should really mount it below those lamps. They are called ID lamps to identify your vehicle being over 80" wide. Required by Fed law. Wouldn't want to get a ticket.

Also if you get power from there, your camera will only have power when the lights are on. To get full time power (when the ign is on) go down to your trailer wiring and 12v from the battery charge circuit. Be sure to fuse it.

I have 5 of those lights on the back. 3 are fairly close together withing a 4ft space, then the other two are about 6" from he ends. I guess I should look into if they have ay legal reqirements as far as how many lights are needed to be legal just to be sure.

I have the option to only run the running lights if I want, so having them on to use the camera wouldn't be a problem, plus most the time I won't need the camera except to launch my boat, or back into a camping spot .

FMCSA part 393 applies to commercial vehicles.
