Yes that is what I do on mine. The automatic opener controlled by a thermostat is shutoff on mine.

I am not a fan of automated anything on an RV. Or around my house as far as that goes.

The Fantastic Fans we've always had open till they hit an obstruction, then the top quits. Fantastic Vent told me they are designed that way. They are like the slide controllers on the Newmars we had. They sense the extra load and shut off.
