Insurance

Hello,

Insurance renewal time. Price going up each year (agreed upon value policy) through Allied. Any suggestions on other companies that might offer lower rates. Located in Michigan, maybe some fellow Michiganders can share who insures your RV's? Appreciate any help I can get. Thank you.

Rose

If you're old enough then The Hartford through AARP might be an option. They saved me about $1800 a year over National General.
I don't like some of the AARP political stuff though.

I currently use Progressive. I don't know if their rates are the lowest but I know that if I have a claim they will pay it. Remember, you buy insurance hoping that you'll never need it but when you do ---

Saving a few bucks upfront may not be in your best interest in the long run.

Check with a Ins. Broker Agent........Explorer RV, Miller, Gilberts

They get multiple quotes from numerous Ins. Companies...same/same so you can compare coverage/premiums

Hartford is who we are CURRENTLY with'
Others ----National Interstate, Foremost, Bluesky,

Michigan Insurance

The Michigan no fault charges went up again this past year. That may be part of the increase you are seeing. We insure through Progressive and have been pleased with it - minimal increase this past year. Can't wait to see when my plate fee is going to be in 2017 with the upcoming increase - looks like over $1200 for us.

as an Insurance Agent/Agency owner, and a Full Timer, I can tell you the truth...

There is no way to know unless you contact EVERY insurance company and get a fully vetted quote.

This means that they actually run your MVR, accident and history reports, and consumer reports, and give you the actual price that you will receive.

It's a chore, but if saving money is your only goal, there is no other way.
What everyone else has is NOT the best for you. No insurance company has the best plan or price for everyone, no matter how much advertising they do to lead you in that direction.

Try a google search and you'll find many, many options...

Enjoy : )

Another happy Hartford AARP user. I ended up transferring all my insurance to them saving $1200 a year. I went thru a broker who shopped a few companies for the best deal.

National General (GMAC) raised my rates 30% after a windshield claim. The said the raise had nothing to do with the claim.LOL

To add to National General: I had my first chargeable accident since high school last year (I'm 69 now). National held the claim open in case my DW's neck needed to be looked at. This was last Sept. and I changed insurance in Feb of this year. Now I'm finding that somehow National General had my DW's Medicare records changed to make them primary and Medicare secondary and since August 1st all Medicare claims have been rejected due to this. My DW died on August 21st and I can't even get into the account to correct it. The hospital is all in a tither and has sent me three threatening letters, the first one 8 DAYS after she died there!!

So sorry to hear of your wife's passing. I have read many of your postings in the last couple years and was aware of health issues these past few months. Sorry to hear she lost her battle.

My condolences in the passing of your wife. My thoughts and prayers go out for you and your family in this time of loss.

Regarding your insurance/medicare issue, you may want to contact your local insurance commissioner or congressman to assist you with addressing it.
