I had the same problem with the General. Big jump in spite of never having any type of claim. I switched to Nationwide for about half price. After a lot of shopping it looks like most insurers have gone up a lot. They must be trying to keep up with the health insurers who now have a license to steal.

Is Hartford foe real???

Following this thread as my NGIC insurance runs out next month, and I am expecting the big jump. Nationwide will not sell policies in Louisiana... so they are out. Progressive is about a 15 % increase over this past year's NGIC policy. And then there is Hartford!! Increased coverage across the board... lower deductibles.... and at 60 % of last year's NGIC policy cost. What am I missing?? Other than having to join AARP...which I detest immensely...but will hold my nose and give them my money.... What are the down sides to the Hartford insurance??

You should always make your agent shop your coverage. That is what you pay them for.

The same thing happened to me with National General. Ours was due to go up about $400 this year. I checked with my homeowners insurance and they covered the MH for less than NG charged last year, plus my other policies dropped due to adding the MH. It's worth checking with your agent.

NG insurance

I contacted National General 2 weeks ago as my policy renews in April asking for a quote on the renewal. They told me they don't expect an increase and can't give me info until I get the policy renewal. I am going to start getting quotes elsewhere as a backup plan.

IF for any reason, including rate increase, you become unhappy with your insurance company.. Then you need to take a Musician's Advice.

That's crazy! Shop around and get a better deal. I have been with National Interstate for 5 yrs and have gotten a total increase in that time period of $80.

We have a division of Nationwide Insurance.

Our 36" MH has full coverage, 100/300. The 12 month premium is $524.
The company is Depositors Ins. Co., and it is a division of Nationwide Ins.
We buy it through an independent Nationwide agent.
Geico and Good Sams were much higher.

I switched to Nationwide two years ago and paid the same both years. We started with progressive, but after three years of increases we switched.

A couple years ago we had Grange insurance and it jumped way up. Our agent shopped around and we went with Celina. Last year when our agent was shopping around he found that Grange had went down again so we went back with them.
