Interior Cabinet Seam Tape Removal

I 've had some damage to the vinyl contact paper that covers cabinet stiles and sides/trim. I have new contact paper but want to know the best way to remove the old....pulling on a corner usually results in a tear.

Use a heat gun: Heat Gun - Dual Temperature Heat Gun, 1500W
