Interior doors

My bedroom door doesn't close anymore. It almost looks like its swelled. But I wonder if the framing has shifted. Piano hinges, glass window door. It use to close, but now.... Not so much.
Any ideas? I hate to start sanding down the edge, if that isn't the problem.

A rough suggestion. Bring it almosted close and stick a flat bar, small crow bar, between the jam and door and give it a little attitude adjustment. Don't tear it off its hinges or break trim but just expand the jam a little...suggestion bygeorge

Tighten screws first. Check door jam to make sure it hasn't become loose as well.

Close door - is it hitting in one area or the whole length? Planning down the door to fit is perfectly acceptable. If it is just a little tight in one place rub with a bar of soap. Seasonal humidity changes can affect door closing!

Great thought. I'll try it.

i am a finish carpenter by trade along with many other things..."racking" a door is complicated if you dont know what it means...if door is rubbing on top and the reveal edge on the top at closing side is wider then take a longer screw at top hinge and pull it back which will pull top of door back and close the top reveal edge at end...just use this info to any edge....if needed you may need to just pull top and bottom back with screws if reveal edge is constant...hop you understand.. its the smae with edges that stick out at bottom or top...if the bottom of the door is sticking out from the edge of the jamb then you must pull the top edge at hinge side out or the top and stricker side in...same goes with all four corners...jeff

You may have to remove the door, remove the piano hinge and take about a 1/6" - 1/8" off of the hinge side to prevent it from happening again.
