I'm looking to replace my interior lights with LED lights and was wondering if anyone has done so and how they worked out?
Also where can I purchase them?
Thanks in advance for the help and information.

Bob here is one old source of LED lights but I am sure by now there are many more options. LEDs are a good choice. GOod luck and keep us posted as to what you find as a choice.

BobD, I will copy the web site of a guy who did an extensive write up that covers your project.

LEDs do not generally function as well as incandescents for interior lighting - the light is focused rather than diffuse and it takes several LEDs to equal the candle power of a small incandescent bulb or a 10-15w flourescent fixture. They are OK for mood or trim lighting or night lights, but not all that great for general lighting or reading lamps.

I added a battery operated LED in a closet that didn't have a light and that's OK, though not real bright either.

Are you trying to save electricity or to upgrade the actual light output? Or just to modernize your fixtures?

Good article in May issue of Motorhome magazine on LEDs. Also try lightblasters.com. They have hand assembled LED replacement units for light bulbs found on and in RVs. Are not cheap, but they will equal or exceed light output - lumens - of incandescents. Saw them demonstrated in Quartzsite. All the good stuff such as low current draw, run cool, etc. applies.

RV Wizard, EZ Livin, RV Roamer and Bill Davis,
Thanks for the information about the LED lights.
I'm looking to reducing not only the watts used boobdocking but also the heat from the spot type lights over the table and sofa.
Again my thanks to all for your input.
