Intermittently not cranking
I have a 2011 Winnebago 40CD with Cummins ISL 450. A problem has arose lately sometimes cranks first try after glow plug light, and sometimes does not. If I try to crank from start position on ignition it will never start, but if I turn ignition off and then through on to start, it will crank, but may take several tries before it does. I have installed new batteries and cleaned and torqued solenoid and starter posts. Ignition is good. Still the same issue. Any thoughts before I take it into a shop?
Thanks

This has the markings of an intermittent ground. Try the low hanging fruit first by going into the battery bay, locating the bundle of ground wires that go to the negative side of the chassis batteries. Take a real close look at these connections, remove, clean and install. In some cases there are a bunch of these grounds that are fed into one terminal and over time loose contact in the connector.
Chances are if you had Cummins look for codes, there would be none but that's your next step after you rule out the obvious.

I had same issue and it was a bad speed sensor. Replaced and starts on first turn. I did have the caution light go off and when tech hooked his laptop up the code was for speed sensor. That was only issue was it would not start without it cranking several times to start. Hope this helps. Ray

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I'm no mechanic so can't help with that!
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I had a similar issue on my 1989 Monaco with a L-10 engine, Cummins 647 tranny. My coach would sometimes start fine, other times it would just click or do a partial slow cycle. After months of frustration I finally bypassed the Neutral Safety switch on the transmission and no more hesitation or problems. Of course I damn well made sure I was in Neutral every time. Cost me about $69.00 for the Cummins universal safety neutral switch.

Sounds like ignition switch needs replacing.

The old "Break out another thousand" plus inflation. Thanks for your reply.
