95 Holiday Rambler....inverter fault light stays on and not getting the right amps to run ac and other electic items...we are on a 50amp hook up

Your inverter doesn't have anything to do with A/C. At best it only powers a few outlets and isn't for 'heavy lifting' like heating elements, (toasters, coffee pot, hair dryers, etc.) Check the rating on the inverter to get an idea of what it can power. Your A/C works off the generator or the shore line. If you have a 50 amp set up, it should work both A/Cs at once. Your inverter is usually a charger for the house batteries too. If those batteries go dead, you lose the 12v that powers your fridge, thermostat, water heater, etc.

Your 95 HR probably did not come with an inverter as standard equipment - perhaps you mean the converter, which charges batteries and supplies 12v power when on shore hook-up? An inverter converts battery 12v to 120vac when no shore power is available, but some inverter may also have an integral battery charge function.

In any case, as inverter would not be supplying power to the air conditioning. Tell us more about what works and what does not when on 50A shore power.

Not exactly correct info here. For instance, the inverter in my 2002 eagle did not like that the dryer was on when I pulled shore power. It threw a fault code for overload. When I plugged in at our next stop the inverter only allowed power to one leg of the coach. Everything worked inside including the rear a/c, but the front did not. I spent half a day trying to figure out why the front a/c was not getting power. I thought the rough roads we had traveled caused a wire to loosen or maybe it was a bad thermostat. It wasn't until I killed the power on the inverter, and turned the invert switch to off, then reconnected the inverter to the batteries that the front a/c started working again.

My Heart Interface inverter is the original in the coach and has been finicky sine we moved in. I am getting a new one installed next month.

Best of luck and let us know what you find out. I would try resetting or killing the power to the unit and reconnecting it up.

Most AC's,dryers or any high current draw appliance are on their own circuit breaker in the load center not off the inverters because of high current draw.
The Gen or shore power would be used.

Exactly. The only time I have had issues with my inverter is when I kill shore or gen power and didn't know at the dryer or AC was on. Also, one time the DW hit the genny with two ACs and a vacuum cleaner all at the same time. The inverter, which has some sort of power manager built in, killed all the power to the coach. I had to remove the battery cables to reset the invert that time also.
