Doesn't your Magnum manual cover this? If you don't have the manual for the remote, perhaps this one covers yours

It is possible you have the remote but the AGS function is not installed in your coach. It is an optional feature. The button on the remote merely turns the AGS on/off - there are additional controls associated with AGS. Here is the manual for the AGS itself:

lets say its not set up to do that. What do you need in order to get the AGS to work the way it should.just seems like an invaluable feature...

This is an option and the panel has it on it whether the option is installed or not. Very rarely installed a few years ago. More common now. My panel has it and it was not installed.

Here is one source for the Magnum AGS controller. It also needs more than a bit of wiring to install.

Magnum Auto Gen Start (AGS)
