2003 Winnebago Adventurer. Appears I have no power to inverter. Checked fuse on face of inverter as well as GFI type of switch next to the fuse. Is there a secondary fuse somewhere under the dash or the engine compartment as well and if so where is it located?

Check the fuse box under the dash. It may be on the driver side covered.

In the main ac distribution panel you should have a breaker that feeds 120vac to the inverter. Make certain this breaker is not tripped or is off. Also if there is no 12vdc at the cables, there is a large fuse (usually close to the battery bank that may have blown or has a bad connection. Make certain that the battery disconnect switch or solenoid is closed and that connections are clean and tight. Give us more detail as to the exact scenario; what is not working.

not sure what you mean by ac distribution panel. The fuse you refer to close to the battery bank-is this along the battery cable itself? Under the coach? I don't see anything labled inverter along the fuses above the top entry step. You also mention the battery disconnet switch, I gather this is also located near the batteries? As far as my scenario goes, I noticed the other day the inverter green light did not come on when the inverter was turned on. No power to the tv, dvd or vcr. Tried pressing the small push button fuse on the face of the inverter. Next to that is what looks like a gfi switch and tried that as well. Pulled the inverter out and plugged into both outlets in the back of the unit after I turned it on and again nothing. Unplugged the unit and used a test light and it appeared the unit was not getting any power from the batteries. If in fact it's another fuse somewhere in the rv, I'm trying to figure out where it's located. I've checked under the hood, dash, near the steps and in the small cabinet next to the steps and can't find anything labled inverter. Located another banck of fuses above the fuse box under the dash but can't find anything in my paperwork that identifies what these fuses are for. Emailed Winnebago yesterday and waiting for reply.

The inverter was added by the coach mfgr, so there will be NO fuses under the dash or anywhere on the vehicle chassis concerned with the inverter.

There should be an ac circuit breaker in the main AC distribution panel (the one fed from shore power) that feeds AC to, and through, the inverter transfer switch. This could be bad or tripped.

When you say, "You unplugged the inverter" do you mean it is plugged into an ac outlet? If so, will any other electrical device (test light) work from this outlet? If so, then your inverter is probably bad, or not getting 12V DC.

To trouble shoot the DC (12v) side you will have to follow the wires back to the battery or nearest battery switch. Somewhere in that line will be a circuit breaker or fuse.

It's easier to measure for the voltage expected than tracing wires. Do you have a meter?

The AC distribution panel others have eluded to is inside the coach. Mine is on the back wall inside a cabinet...This same thing happened to me twice. The first time was was a popped c/b on the inverter and the other was a popped c/b inside the panel. I think we overload the system both times and all was well after a reset.

If you still have trouble, I'd pose the question in the Winnebago section of the Owner's Corner Forum...those folks will be able to tell you specifically where your problem is likely to be and where to find it. Bob

Ok, my test light was bad. New test light confirms I have power to inverter. Again I've pressed the push button fuse and gfi type switch on the face of the unit to no avail. I've also tried the two outlets on the back of the unit and neither works. I believe I've narrowed the problem down to the inverter itself. Thank you for your input and assistance with my issue.

I'm thinking this is your basic "addon inverter" that someone (perhaps the manufacturer) put in to power the "TV-VCR" circuit when not plugged in?

Such a device would be fed 12 volts from the DC distribution box (under the front hood in my F53)
