Inverter question

Whilst on the inverter subject. We stayed over night at Cracker-barrel last night in michigan
The furnace ran all night and with tv etc.
This am DW used the hair dryer and it stopped after a couple of minutes. ( I wasn't surprised) however the control board said that batteries were low and start the gen set- good advice I thought. now to my point, the control face says RC7 GS remitted control- gen set starting
Does this mean this equipment should be smart enough to start the Genny automatically??

A hair drier sucks up a lot of power, so I'd expect the batteries to deplete pretty soon unless you ahve a huge battery bank.

I see someone posted a link to the owner's manual for that display.

The answer to your "is it smart enough" question is this.

There are several optional sub systems in a Motor home, and it's a "pick as many as you like"

EMS (Energy Management Systems) help when you are plugging a 50 amp rig into a 30 amp park.

Inverter: You alerady know it lets you watch TV at night, but don't use the hair dryer.

Generator Auto Start: (May be combined with EMS) I'd guess you have this.

It is not part of the inverter (Far as I know) but a seperate box of electronics.

ALso, it can be programmed to observe "Quiet Hours" which you should do, So you need to read the manual linked to above.

I'm thinking the hair dryer pulled the voltage down to below 10.5 which is the low battery alarm point
I don't believe the batteries were actually low
I'll try it again without the hair dryer on my trip south

10.5 is far too low a setting. I think you need to up that number to ensure better battery lifespan. 10.5 is a "Dead" battery. Too many have ruined a good battery array thinking 10-11 volts is a good running range. Well, it's not! The 12 volt range is the running range.

Try to keep it's lowpoint to 40 % - 50% of full strength [translates to 11.9-12.0 volts].

I agree
I thought I read that 10.5 was the default setting
I have no idea if the previous owner changes it and I haven't gas a chance to check
