I run a 3000 watt modified sine wave xantrex inverter. It is located about 6' from the batteries. I use 2 2/0 welder wires to each terminal. I have a 400 amp fuse on the hot side and a marine switch for both the positive and negative. I run an LCD TV with no problems, no noise. I run 3 Trojan J-185H 12v floor machine batteries for 615 AH of power. I get 5 days off them boondocking. I have an 80 amp xantrex converter.

Tis better to err on the high side for an inverter. Microwaves can operate on a 1500 watt inverter but run much better on a 3000 watt. Get the largest inverter you can afford and the largest batteries that will fit.
